EnergyWorks has been a project for 2 years, 4 months ago with 8 supporters

This project aims to engage disconnected youth paying jobs weatherizing homes and educating people about energy conservation. Through this program youth receive training and education as well as GED tutoring and life skills and other counseling services. Youth perform a basic energy audit on the home then install about $100 worth of energy saving materials including up to 10 CFL lightbulbs, hot water heater insulation, pipe insulation, outlet and switchbox insulators, weatherstripping for doors, caulk windows, as well as installing low flow faucet aerators and shower heads. Crews also check the hot water heater and refrigerator temperature and adjust for optimal efficiency.
