I started studying about herbs when I was 12 years old. My curiosity in natural healing and herbal medicine began after reading Back to Eden, by Jethro Kloss. I was so inspired! I began to experiment, using my family as guinea pigs, with various herbal teas and concoctions. (Miraculously they survived and thrived!) Herbal medicine and natural healing has been my life long interest and love. At a young age I felt that if I knew the name of every plant I would never be alone. In addition, I felt that if a natural disaster was to strike I would have sufficient knowledge of plants, their healing properties and application, to be able to help others as well as myself. I studied herbal medicine with renowned herbalists Dr. Richard Schulze, Christopher Hobbs and Jeanne Rose. In 1994 I was certified from the Los Angeles Institute of Natural Healing with both Herbalist/Herbal Pharmacist, and Natural Health Consultant certifications. In 2005, I graduated from the Polarity Healing Arts School, in Los Angeles, with an Associate Polarity Practitioner certification. I was also certified as a Reiki level 2 practitioner. From 2005-2008, prior to moving to Santa Fe, I published Topanga Magazine, an eco-wellness lifestyle magazine that focused on issues of healing, both physically and spiritually, for us as individuals and for the planet.
